AGRO-FOOD PARK TRUST II
The Metropolitan Agri-Food Unit and República AFISA constituted the “FINANCIAL TRUST FOR THE FINANCING OF THE AGRI-FOOD PARK II”.
On 06/08/2020, the Metropolitan Agri-Food Unit (UAM) as Trustor and AFISA Republic in its capacity as Trustee constituted the “FINANCIAL TRUST FOR THE FINANCING OF THE AGRO-FOOD PARK II”, by which the UAM transfers the credits on the who have the right to receive the flow of funds from an Agreement signed with the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries. Said agreement effected the contribution from the Farm Development Fund provided for by article 20 of Law No. 18,832.
The Trustee will proceed to issue a Private Offer Debt Certificate for an amount of UI 70 million, which will be acquired by the Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay.
The UAM's main objective is the development of the Agrifood Park, which will include the Fruit and Vegetable Market (currently under the orbit of the Mercado Modelo), along with other food items and complementary services.
The investment for the construction of the Agrifood Park is financed through contributions from the Municipality of Montevideo, the proceeds of the Financial Trust issue for the Financing of the Agrifood Park I, constituted with the future income flows of the UAM, and the product of the issuance of the Debt Title foreseen in this trust.
